Vice chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s daughter Gauhar Bano Qureshi said on Thursday that her father “was, is and will continue” to stand with the party chairman Imran Khan.
In a video message shared on PTI’s official Twitter handle, Gauhar said she had come to visit her father at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi and was told by the former foreign minister to give his aforementioned message out to the public specifically.
The development comes a day after former PTI leaders Fawad Chaudhry, Imran Ismail, and Mahmood Baqi Moulvi said they had contacted and held talks with the former and present leadership of the party, including Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Hammad Azhar.
The former leaders also said they aimed to solve current crises in the country.
However, Hammad Azhar denied being part of any such plan, saying he was a worker of Imran Khan and an office bearer of the PTI.
In a tweet, Azhar said only party chief Imran Khan would decide on any “solution or advice by a friend.”
Earlier, Asad Umar had also distanced himself from Fawad Chaudhry’s politics, saying he was “not active in what Fawad is doing.”
