LAHORE: The Spot Rate Committee of the Karachi Cotton Association on Wednesday decreased the spot rate by Rs 700 per maund and closed it at Rs 18,500 per maund.

The local cotton market remained bearish and the trading volume was satisfactory.

Cotton Analyst Naseem Usman told that the rate of cotton in Sindh is in between Rs 16,400 to Rs 17,000 per maund. The rate of cotton in Punjab is in between Rs 18,300 to Rs 18,700 per maund. The rate of Phutti in Sindh is in between Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,000 per 40 Kg. The rate of Phutti in Punjab is in between Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 per 40 Kg. The rate of cotton in Balochistan is in between Rs 16,700 to Rs 16,800 per maund.

2800 bales of Tando Adam were sold at Rs 17,000 to Rs 17,800 per maund, 3800 bales of Shahdad Pur were sold at Rs 17,000 to Rs 17,600 per maund, 1200 bales of Mir Pur Khas were sold at Rs 17,000 to Rs 17,300 per maund, 3200 bales of Sanghar were sold at Rs 16,800 to Rs 17,600 per maund, 800 bales of Chowdagi were sold at RS 17,200 to Rs 17,500 per maund, 600 bales of Nawab Shah were sold at Rs 17,300 to Rs 17,500 per maund, 800 bales of Hyderabad, 600 bales of Kotri were sold at Rs 17,000 to Rs 17,200 per maund, 1200 bales of Shah Pur Chakar were sold at Rs 17,000 to Rs 17,600 per maund, 800 bales of Maqsooda Rind were sold at Rs 17,000 to Rs 17,500 per maund, 800 bales of Khanewal were sold at Rs 19,000 to Rs 19200 per maund, 600 bales of Mian Chanu were sold at Rs 19,200 per maund, 400 bales of Shujabad, 600 bales of Jahanian, 1200 bales of Vehari were sold at Rs 19,000 per maund, 600 bales of Layyah were sold at Rs 19,000 to Rs 19,200 per maund, 400 bales of Muzaffar Garh were sold at Rs 19,000 per maund, 1200 bales of Haroonabad were sold at Rs 19,000 to Rs 19,200 per maund, 400 bales of Bahawalpur, 200 bales of Ahmed Pur East were sold at Rs 19,300 per maund, 1200 bales of Chichawatni were sold at Rs 18,500 to Rs 19,200 per maund, 200 bales of Burewala were sold at Rs 18,900 per maund and 200 bales of Hasil Pur were sold at Rs 19,000 per maund.

The Spot Rate Committee of the Karachi Cotton Association on Wednesday decreased the spot rate by Rs 700 per maund and closed it at Rs 18,500 per maund. The rate of polyester fiber was increased by Rs 5 and was available at Rs 325 per kg.
