LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer Ahmad Raza Tahir said police commandos had been deputed at all churches of the city on Christmas.
He said that more than 4,000 police officials would perform duty on Christmas and additional force had also be deputed at entry and exit points of the city.
He directed divisional SPs to constitute special raiding teams to take stern action against revellers and persons involved in firing and one-wheeling on the eve of Christmas and New Year celebrations.
He directed divisional SPs to personally monitor the performance of the force under their command and submit a performance report on a daily basis.
"In case of any negligence or mismanagement, action will be taken not only against the SHO and the In-charge Investigation but explanation would also be sought from the SDPO," he added.
He said Lahore police have arrested 21,276 proclaimed offenders and 13,411 absconders involved in different criminal incidents.
The POs were wanted in 690 cases of murder, 594 cases of attempt to murder, 614 cases of dacoity, 2,579 cases of theft, 1608 cases of robbery and 15,191 other cases.
