KARACHI: Karachi Metropolitan Corporation on Wednesday started replacement of Liaquatabad flyover’s faulty joint expansion.
During the replacement work, one track of the flyover would remain closed and the people are advised to use alternate route. The replacement work has been initiated on the directives of the city Administrator Iftekhar Ali Shallwani.
Shallwani took notice of media reports about deplorable condition of the flyover’s expansion joints and directed concerned department to fix the issue at the earliest.
Director General Works Shabeeh ul Hassan Zaidi said that they would try to replace expansion joints at the earliest to ensure smooth flow of traffic. He said that the track would be reopened for traffic soon after completion of the works.
