KARACHI: Sindh Secretary Local Government Najam Ahmad Shah said record of all vaccinated children and vaccine provided to private hospitals and dispensaries in the province should be compiled and maintained regularly.

Najam Ahmad Shah expressed these views while presiding over a meeting on Digital Birth Registration Project which is running with the collaboration of Sindh Local Government Department and UNICEF.

On this occasion, the Secretary Local Government Sindh was informed that under the Digital Birth Registration Project, the process for registration of newborn births starts immediately after birth in different districts of Sindh and birth registration desks has also been established in different hospitals in this regard.

Najam Ahmad Shah was informed that the registration software for every child born is linked to the central database of NADRA, which would help the child in future for obtaining official documents in his academic and professional matters.

He informed that complete record of all children vaccinated from public or private hospitals should be made part of the government accounts with full transparency and the hospitals or dispensaries to which vaccines and medicines are being provided, all records should be compiled regularly.
