Toyota has increased the prices of Yaris, with the top variant reaching almost 3 million.

Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) has announced a Rs. 40,000 increase in prices for all variants of the newly launched Toyota Yaris. This price increase is not complemented with any improvements in the car itself.

Although the company has not released any official statement to explain this price hike, this is the 3rd time prices have been increased for Toyota Yaris. The first price increase was announced during COVID-19 lockdown without the sale of even one single unit.

Here is how much Toyota Yaris will cost you now:

Toyota Yaris has been performing well in terms of sales. Monthly passenger car sales data by the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) show that Toyota Yaris had the highest number of sales in the 1300cc and above cars category in September, 2020. Sales were higher than Toyota Corolla, Suzuki Swift and Honda cars (City and Civic).

A comparison between Toyota Yaris and Corolla show that for the past three months Toyota Yaris had more sales than Corolla.

While Toyota Yaris performs well in terms of sales, further increases in prices amidst a pandemic might have a serious impact on buyer’s ability and willingness to make this purchase.
