Warning that a second wave of coronavirus may hit Pakistan due to winters, Prime Minister Imran Khan has urged everyone to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

In a tweet, the PM said as compared to some other states, Allah has been kind Pakistan and spared us from the worst effects of coronavirus. However, he said there is a fear of a second wave of COVID-19 due to winters.

He urged everyone to wear a mask in public to avoid a spike of the virus. "All offices and educational institutions must ensure masks are worn," the PM urged.

In the last 24 hours, Pakistan reported 632 new cases and six deaths from the novel virus. The country also reported 375 recoveries.

In the past month, the country has seen a surge in the COVID-19 cases, prompting Karachi, which reports the majority cases in Sindh, to impose a lockdown in several areas for two weeks.

The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has also ordered a crackdown against restaurants and marriage halls neglecting coronavirus SOPs.
