Check out this Japanese lamp can kill coronavirus

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to take toll globally, the world’s leading research firms are burning the midnight oil to curb the spread of the virus.

With the development of a vaccine still under trial, a Japanese lighting company Oshio has found another solution to the problem and has developed a device that emits ultraviolet rays that can kill the COVID-19 virus without harming humans.

Developed in collaboration with the Columbia University, CARE 222 emits 222 nanometers of UV (Ultra Violet) rays in contrast to conventional devices that emit 254 nanometers of UV rays.

This germicidal device will be used to disinfect rush areas including buses, trains, elevators, and offices without harming humans.

The device, called Care 222, is hung from the ceiling of the desired location and is capable of eliminating 99 percent of the germs in the air at a distance of up to two and a half meters in a time span of 7 minutes.

According to the Japanese media, the efficiency of 222 nanometers of UV rays against coronavirus has been confirmed by the University of Hiroshima which after conducting test have found that the rays are not harmful to human health.

Orders are currently being received from healthcare providers for the Care 222 device, which weighs approximately 1.2 kilograms and is available at a price tag of 300,000 yen or $2,860.
