ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi on Tuesday approved as many as five bills passed by the Parliament.
The president signed “The Islamabad High Court (Amendment) Bill, 2020”, “The Islamabad Capital Territory Waqf Properties Bill, 2020”, “The Pakistan Medical Commission Bill, 2020”, “The Medical Tribunal Bill, 2020”, and “The Rights for Special Persons Bill, 2020”.
After the approval of the president, now, these bills have become laws of the country.
Under “The Islamabad High Court (Amendment) Act, 2020,” the strength of judges of the Islamabad High Court will be increased from seven to 10 judges including the chief justice to overcome the difficulties of litigant public qua early disposal of long pending cases.
Under “The Islamabad Capital Territory Waqf Properties Act, 2020”, steps will be taken for better management of dedicated properties in the areas of Islamabad.
The “Pakistan Medical Commission Act, 2020” would help regulate the medical sector and implement uniform standards in medical education.
The institute will improve the quality of training and educational qualifications in the field of medicine and dentistry.
Under “The Medical Tribunal Bill, 2020,” a special judicial tribunal will be set up.
The Special Judicial Tribunal will expedite disputes in the medical and health sectors.
The Rights for Special Persons Act, 2020, will help to protect and promote the rights of persons with disabilities in society in accordance with Islamic injunctions and provisions of the Constitution.
