Pakistan High Commission in UK receives Nawaz Sharif's arrest warrants

(Karachi) The High Commission of Pakistan in London has received arrest warrants issued by Islamabad High Court against former premier Nawaz Sharif, media has reported.
According to the details, the assistant registrar of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) directed the foreign secretary to ensure the production of the former prime minister before the court on September 22.
The Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri confirmed that Nawaz Sharif’s arrest warrants had been received by the foreign ministry.
Earlier on September 15, the Islamabad High Court rejected former premier and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif's petition seeking exemption to appear in the court in Al-Azizia reference case and issued non-bailable warrants against him.
The IHC bench comprising Justice Amir Farooqui and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani, maintained that Nawaz Sharif's bail has expired in the said case. The court ordered the authorities to arrest the PML-N leader and produce him before the court.
