Pakistan Navy continues relief, rescue operation in rain-hit areas of Karachi
- Official says PN Emergency rescue teams evacuated stranded people to safer places including 55 individuals, 20 families and also recovered two dead bodies
(Karachi) The rescue and relief operation by Pakistan Navy in different affected areas of Karachi after heavy rain spell continues, an official of Pakistan Navy said on Thursday.
In a tweet, he stated that the emergency response and rescue teams of Navy evacuated stranded people to safer places and recovered bodies being washed away in flash flood. "PN Emergency rescue teams alongwith boats and requisite life saving equipment evacuated stranded people to safer places including 55 individuals, 20 Families and also recovered two dead bodies," he said.

The PN spokesperson added that the aerial surveillance was also carried out to provide help to people requiring assistance. "Ration bags and cooked meal were distributed to the affectees," he mentioned. The official said, "PN's continued relief operation in Karachi is aimed to assist and extend necessary suport in rain-hit areas."
In assistance to the civil administration, PN Emergency Response teams along with boats and requisite life saving equipment were deployed in different areas of the city including Diamond City Malir, Shah Faisal Town, Korangi Crossing, Sammo goth and Bahria Town Karachi.
