LAHORE: Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Senator Sirajul Haq has expressed concern over non-arrest of the elements involved in grenade attack on the JI Karachi rally taken out a week before in support of Kashmir cause.

Addressing a condolence reference for Rafique Tanoli Shaheed here on Wednesday, he said the JI worker Rafique lost his life and 37 other sustained injuries in result of the incident but the federal and provincial governments showed no seriousness to arrest the culprits behind the attack on the rally.

The overall attitude of the rulers, he said, was proof of the fact that they had no interest in Kashmir cause, adding the Kashmiri leaders were showing desperation over Islamabad cold shoulder towards the cause.

Sirajul Haq said the government failed to protect life of the people as the fresh wave of terror engulfed Balochistan and other parts of the country. But, he added, the rulers were ready to set free Kulbhushan and were in search of the opportunities to develop friendship with India.

The JI chief said the economy was on the verge of collapse due to the failed policies of present regime. He said every sector from agriculture to education was facing decline. He expressed fear that farmers were set to face the severe shortage of water for their crops in Kharif season. He said the Punjab government intentionally deprived the farmers from getting subsidy on fertilizers as the PTI's own federal parliamentary secretary for food security admitted the fact. He said the people were not satisfied over the ongoing campaign of accountability.

Meanwhile, the JI chief telephoned Rafique Tarar to expressed condolence with the former president on the death of his spouse. The JI Secretary General Ameerul Azim, Deputy Emir Liaqat Baloch and other leaders also prayed for the deceased soul.

Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami Deputy Chief Liaqat Baloch has said the solution to the problems being faced by the Muslim ummah is hidden in its unity. Talking to different delegation here on Wednesday, he said Muslim world instead of competing with enemies of Islam was engaged in fighting with each others.
