HYDERABAD: The Flour Mill Owners' Social Welfare Association president Haji Mohammed Hafeez Khanzada said due to increase of Rs 237.50 on 100 kg sack of wheat by the Punjab government, and the announcement of equal price of wheat in all the provinces made by the Prime Minister Imran Khan, the hoarders were triumphant as they see it an opportunity. He said the hoarders increased the wheat price Hyderabad and other cities of Sindh.

He said people, who were already suffering economically due lockdown situation, now find it difficult to buy bread for their children. He informed that during the last three months the record increase of Rs 1300 on 100 kg sack of wheat had been made. He said 100 kg sack of wheat which was being sold on Rs 3400, now being sold on Rs 4700 which was expected to be increased further. He demanded to stop the smuggling of wheat from Sindh.

He said huge stock of wheat sacks worth billions of Rupees were placed in open place where due to sun light and rains it was getting rotted. He said although the food department and district administration raided the warehouses of hoarders and recovered wheat stock but it had not been shifted to government warehouse which was a question mark on the performance of concerned officers. Khanzada demanded for bringing this stock of wheat into the open market for sell.
