CHICAGO: Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) corn futures fell on Tuesday as concerns eased about the risk for hot, dry weather to threaten crops in the US Midwest, traders said.

CBOT December corn ended down 3-3/4 cents at $3.52-1/2 per bushel.

Forecasts for later this week look wetter in US crop-growing areas than they did on Monday, when corn and soybean futures rose on weather worries, analysts said.

Next week remains drier than normal, particularly across the southwestern Corn Belt, according to Maxar. The dryness will likely stress crops, the firm said.

Traders are waiting for the US Department of Agriculture to issue monthly estimates on crop production and yields on Friday.
