TORONTO: Toronto's main stock index ended higher on Friday as strong oil prices boosted the energy sector and investors pushed money into stable Canadian bank stocks as markets wound down toward year-end.
The Toronto Stock Index closed up 50.19 points, or 0.42 percent, at 11,926.67.
