Twitter is one of the biggest and popular social media applications, however, it is not much popular on Apple Mac and for this reason Twitter has decided to kill it.

The social media app has taken down the application from the web and from Apple’s App Store on Mac, directing users to Twitter.com instead. The Twitter Support is available for now, but that too will end after 30 days.

According to the company, it will focus its efforts on a ‘great Twitter experience’, which is unified across all platforms. According to NDTV, this move also drew attention for Twitter’s Windows platform, from where it has already killed its TweetDeck app, the popular, well-loved client with multi-column organization, list-making tools, and robust notifications.

Twitter hits milestone with first-ever profit

On Apple App Store, the app had an average user rating of 1.7 out of 5. This shows user’s attitude towards the software that was never as strong as the third-party clients such as Tweetbot or in-house services like TweetDeck. The app also failed to keep up to date with its latest feature on Mac.

According to Tech Crunch, users expressed their anger regarding the decision and demonstrated their concerns that the company might pull out TweetDeck from Mac too.
