Member of peace committee killed in IED blast

BAJAUR AGENCY: A member of peace committee was killed in a remote controlled blast here in Mamond Tehsil on Friday.

According to local administration, Malik Abdur Rahman was going to a nearby place in Gut Agra area, when an explosive device placed along the road side went off, killing him on the spot.

Levies personnel and security forces rushed to site of incident soon after the blast and launched search operation to trace the attackers.

The local administration has started investigation into the incident. According to the local residents, the deceased had no personal enmity with anyone and had played a great role in restoration of peace in the region.
