As the country’s premiere cricketing tournament Pakistan Super League (PSL) approaches, players are honing up their craft to get their hands on the title.

Fast bowler Wahab Riaz, one of the heavyweights of PSL defending champions Peshawar Zalmi, is now looking for another shot at the title and is optimistic that his side would win this time too.

“Obviously, there is pressure. PSL is the kind of cricket that keeps you on toes at all times as compared to other formats,” said Wahab, quoted local media.

“However, we have always tried, as we were the team that was not counted as the one up for the championship, but we proved ourselves that we are the champions, and InshAllah we will prove that we will be the champions and for that we need all the fan support,” he added.

The Peshawar Zalmi, led by Darren Sammy, went on to claim their PSL title after beating Quetta Gladiators in the finals last year held at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

The third edition of PSL is scheduled to commence from February 22 in Dubai, with the opening match between defending champions Peshawar Zalmi and PSL latest franchise Multan Sultans.
