US grains fell on Tuesday as investors across a broad range of commodities bailed out of risk assets, yanking soyabeans back down from an early rise close to their highest level the record high hit in 2008. Corn futures fell more than 2 percent to a one-week low, with additional pressure from a US Department of Agriculture supply/demand report that pegged US ending stocks of corn at 10 percent more than trade estimates.
Soyabeans rose to a seven-month high in early trade, then gave up the gains to head lower. Wheat fell on strong crop prospects for the 2012 US winter wheat crop and despite a mildly supportive wheat stocks number in USDA's report. At 12:28 pm CDT (1738 GMT) CBOT May corn was down 12 cents per bushel at $6.37, May soya was up 1-1/4 at $14.32-1/4 and May wheat was down 17 cents at $6.26.
