PP-243, 245 D G Khan: ECP issues revised schedule of by-elections

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued revised schedule of all the stages of by-elections in constituencies of PP-243 D. G. Khan-IV and PP-245 D. G. Khan-VI, however, the polling day will remain the same ie, May 5, 2012. The ECP has issued revised schedule of all the stages for two constituencies, which has become vacant due to resignation tendered by Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa and Muhammad Mohsin Khan Leghari, respectively.
The following new dates for by-elections have been issued by the ECP under which elections will be held on May 5, 2012. According to the schedule, public notices to be issued by the Returning Officer on April 11, 2012. The candidates have been asked to file nomination papers with the Returning Officer on April 12 and 17, 2012. Moreover, the ECP has fixed April 16 and 17 as dates for scrutinising the nomination papers by the Returning Officer and appeals against decisions of the Returning Officer rejecting/ accepting the nomination papers will be filed on April 18 and 19, 2012. The tribunal will decide on the appeals on April 20 and 21, 2012. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is April 23, 2012, while the revised list of candidates will be published on April 24, 2012.-PR
