Sindh Technical Education Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) has constituted 120 committees to give proper training to the unemployed youths of Sindh. This was stated by the Managing Director of STEVTA Abdul Wahid Aqeeli in a seminar held here.
He said these committees consisted of traders, government and non-government representatives, adding that more committees would be formed in other institutions in order to reduce the average of unemployment in the country with the co-ordination of trader community.
256 training institutions of STEVTA were working in Sindh province, he further said. The STEVTA MD said that 28 per cent of youngsters had got jobs, who were trained by the committees concerned. He further said that his department was planning to set up new training institutions in Jacobabad and Thatta with the co-ordination of Pakistan Air Force and British Petroleum Company.
Addressing the seminar, senior vice president of HCCI, Turab Ali Khoja said that 13 units of motorcycle in Hyderabad were fulfilling 40 per cent necessities of CNG rickshaws and tractor in the country but the government was not providing plots in SITE area to establish new industries, adding that the HCCI had been demanding the extension of the SITE for the last ten years. On the occasion, Director of vocational training wing, Syed Nazar Ahmed Shah; General Manager of Mehran Sugar Mills, Rashid Baloch; Engineer Shafi Muhammad Lakho, Professor Ejaz Qureshi and others also addressed the seminar.
