The registrar of the Lahore High Court (LHC) was learnt to have ordered disciplinary action against judge of Anti Terrorist Court, Rawalpindi, Zafar Iqbal for marking himself 'present' without attending duty every Saturday. A private television channel reported on Monday that a junior judge was forcibly transferred from Rawalpindi when he disclosed that the ATC judge used to illegally go to Lahore every Saturday.
According to reports, the judge's reader allegedly drafted verdicts as well as gave hearing dates for important cases in the absence of Zafar Iqbal. The matter was brought to the notice of the registrar of the Lahore High Court, who ordered disciplinary action against Zafar Iqbal after conducting a through inquiry.
