Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Mujahid Sherdil has directed officers of all departments concerned and officials of districts to update the flood plan in the light of upcoming monsoon season and environmental changes so that a comprehensive plan could be chalked out to cope with the emergency situation.
He asked the authorities concerned to update flood control plan keeping in view the last year's shortcomings and remove all such bottlenecks. DG PDMA directed that the banks of rivers and canal should be made stronger than earlier and weakness should be removed immediately.
Sherdil said that 1000 ton of food items had been stored for timely distribution in expected flood areas of DG Khan, Muzaffargarh, Esa Khail and Mianwali districts. DG PDMA concluded that the Disaster Response Force had 210 boats.
