The business community of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reposed full confidence in the procedural process of Multi-Donor Trust Funded (MDTF) project - Economic Revitalisation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata (ERKF) - here on Friday. The project would help the business community of flood and militancy hit areas to regain their lost businesses, enabling the recipients to eke-out their livelihood in a dignified manner, they continued.
Talking to media, former president Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and Chairman, Grant Review and Monitoring Committee (GRMC), Riaz Arshad said that an extensive campaign had been launched for creating awareness regarding the scheme. He appreciated the free of cost and easy availability of forms from different branches of Habib Bank Limited, Chambers Association and from the regional offices of Smeda and its website.
Riaz Arshad maintained that the procedure adopted by Smeda was transparent and cases of the affected applicants were being approved after thorough verification. Malik Niaz Ahmad, President Industrialists Association Peshawar, also ruled out any chances of corruption due to strict scrutiny, saying the ERKF project had been the longstanding desires of the people in the province.
When contacted Javed Iqbal Khattak, provincial chief of Smeda, said he along with his team was trying at their level best to facilitate the terrorism and flood affected community by issuing grants to the actual deserving people. The role of Smeda in the project is the implementation of SMEs development and the organisation had received more than 400 forms from the affected people so far, he briefed.
