Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Mujahid Sherdil has directed officers of all concerned departments and officials of districts to update the flood plan in the light of upcoming monsoon season and environmental changes so that a comprehensive plan could be chalk out to cope with the emergency situation.
He asked the concerned authorities to update flood control plan keeping in view the last year's shortcomings and remove all such bottle necks. He also directed that rivers and canal banks should be made stronger than earlier and weakness should be removed immediately. Mujahid Sherdil said that 1000 tonnes food items have been stored in expected flood areas for timely distribution at different districts like DG Khan, Muzaffargarh and Esa Khail, Mianwali. He added that the Disaster Response Force has 210 boats, but the number is being increased.
