Pakistan and the United States on Friday agreed to keep on working collectively to curb use of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). A US delegation led by Dr Peter Lavoy, US Assistant Secretary for Asia and Pacific Security, called on Minister for Interior Rehman Malik here and appreciated steps taken by Pakistan in countering IEDs.
US Ambassador in Pakistan Camron P. Munter was also present in the meeting. In response to the Interior Minister's assertion that "we are waiting for outcome of parliamentary debate for new terms of engagement with USA", the delegation expressed their respect for the parliamentary process. It is need of the hour for both the nations to work together for common interests and common enemies, terrorists, they observed.
