US MIDDAY: soya climbs

US soyabean futures rose 1.7 percent to a seven-month high on Monday on follow-through buying from a government report that pegged lower-than-expected soyabean acreage this year, traders said. At 10:45 a.m. CDT (1545 GMT), CBOT May soyabeans were up 23 cents at $14.26 a bushel. Prices peaked at $14.33-3/4 a bushel, their highest level since hitting $14.41-3/4 a bushel on September 2, 2011.
CBOT May corn was up 9-1/2 cents at $6.53-1/2 a bushel while the new crop December contract was unchanged at $5.40-1/4 a bushel. May corn hit its highest level in nearly two weeks. CBOT May wheat was down 6-3/4 cents at $6.54 a bushel.
