The services of renowned historian, resear-cher, writer and intellectual of Sindh, Pir Hussamuddin Rashdi were eulogised by the imminent experts, scholars and opinion leaders of different schools of thoughts at his 30th memorial ceremony organised by Provincial Culture Department at Makli Necropolis last night.
The Provincial Minister for Culture Ms Sassui Palijo attended the ceremony as a chief guest. Addressing the ceremony, she said that Pir Hussamuddin was a great historian who without seeking government help, explored, researched and wrote real facts of history of Sindh and Sindhi Culture. She said that still there were many manuscripts and letters in thousands available with his family members containing valuable historical details of Sindh and added that her department intends to publish the same for the information of young writers, students and common men.
She said that by virtue of his research work Hussamuddin itself was an institute of historical research on Sindh. She announced for establishing a library in collaboration with Sindh Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) at Makli with the name of Pir Hussamuddin Rashdi to acknowledge his services.
She said that though historically Sindh had been remained peace preacher & peace loving and not aggressed to any other nation but it resisted with full force whenever it was attacked by any stranger. She said that those who had struggled, fight back to defend the geographical boundaries, history and culture of Sindh were the real hero's of Sindh and added that Pir Hussam was one of them whose services would be written in Golden words in the history.
