Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has hailed the Supreme Court verdict on contracts of Rental Power Plants (RPPs), terming it a victory for the people of Pakistan. According to PTI spokesperson on Saturday, PTI believed that the judgement would go a long way in curbing the menace of corruption in the country.
The judgement would further enhance the credibility and respect of the judiciary. PTI also commended the role of media in bringing this scam into the limelight. If the media would not have highlighted this case of massive embezzlement, the country would have lost billions of rupees.
"The court proceedings and response from government institutions primarily the NAB have made it clear that all institutions functioning under the present government are involved in corruption and corrupt practices. However, media's role in highlighting the issue and subsequent action by the Supreme Court has given the people hope that the two institutions will actively act to deal with corrupt people," he added.
