Acid thrown on woman in Multan

A woman received burn injuries, when her husband threw acid on her after exchange of hot words over some domestic issue here on Monday. According to police, Shama, mother of four and resident of Bararan Pul exchanged hot words with his husband, Maqsood. Following the altercation, Maqsood reportedly threw acid on her and fled.
Subsequently, Shama received burn injuries and was taken to Nishtar Hospital. Doctors said that Shama's face remained safe in the attack, however, she suffered serious burn wounds. Police registered a case against the accused and started conducting raids to arrest him. It is worth mentioning here that acid attack on women has become common in Southern Punjab and people have expressed grave concern over the situation.
