Pakistan TB Association Multan chapter and some local NGOs organised a walk in order to raise awareness about the drastic effects of the TB. World TB Day is observed across the world on March 24th to create awareness among the masses about the disease which affects millions of people every year mostly in the developing countries.
A large number of schoolchildren, doctors and people from all walks of life participated in the walk. On March 24, 1882 Dr Robert Koch astounded the scientific community by announcing that he had discovered the cause of tuberculosis. At the time of Koch's announcement in Berli, TB was raging through Europe and America causing the death of one out of every seven people. Since Koch discovered the cause of the disease, TB can be diagnosed and cured.
