Pakistan Day was celebrated with national zeal and fervour throughout the province of Punjab like other parts of the country on Friday. National flag was hoisted on all public and private buildings and thanksgiving prayers were offered in mosques for stability of Pakistan. Rallies of girlS guides and scouts were held and documentary films were screened in the cinema houses on this occasion.
Literary functions and mehfil-e-mushaira were held in provincial metropolis. Sweet was distributed in Dar-ul-Amaan and orphan houses while 'Bara Khana' was arranged for the prisoners in jails on Pakistan Day. In addition, documentary and photographic exhibitions were held regarding Pakistan movement in Lahore. Qirat, speech and essay writing competitions were also held in educational institutions and prizes were awarded to the winners.
