Dust-storm hit the city on Monday evening at the speed of 15-20 nautical miles an hour, which is expected to remain for the next 24-36 hours in the province, the met office said. The swirling storm entered the city in evening hours, blurring the horizon with dust, which affected normal life, as people faced breathing problems and suffered lower visibility.
According to the meteorologists, the storm engulfed the city's horizons, as well as left many parts of Sindh and Punjab provinces plunged into dust. But, they said the storm badly struck life in Balochistan. They said the storm reduced the normal visibility to mere 2-3 kilometres and it was swirling at the speed of 15-20 nautical miles. They said if the speed of the storm intensified the span of storm could also increase. They said the storm was expected to dissipate after 24 hours and move towards India's Rajasthan area. The met office advised the allergy patients to take cautionary steps till the storm ends.
