Drug smuggling bid foiled

Foiling a drug smuggling bid security officials at Pak-Afghan border seized a huge cache of hashish near here, Saturday. According to local security officials, a patrol party of the security force signalled a suspicious land cruiser which entered the Pakistani territory from Afghanistan to stop.
However, the land cruiser ignored the signal and raced towards a difficult terrain near the border at Gulistan area of the district. When the security forces pursued, the driver left the vehicle behind and fled into Afghan territory. During search the security officials recovered some 1,000 kilogram of hashish from the vehicle. The value of the seized narcotics is stated to be in millions of rupees.
