KARACHI: BRINDEX-30 closed on the upper side on Thursday at 24,678.19 points with a positive change of 165.10 and volume of 138,681,800 shares. High and Low were 24,798.31 and 24,513.09 respectively. Of 30 companies traded, 19 were up, 11 were down and 0 was unchanged.

Total volume traded in the market was 228,317,620 shares. Total companies traded were 379 of which 214 were positive, 150 were negative and 15 were unchanged.

Technology and Communication was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 31,391,500 shares. It was followed by Engineering with a total traded volume of 28,017,600 shares.

The top three advancers were Wyeth Pakistan Limited with a volume of 2,100 and price per share of 1,877.40 (89.40), Hinopak Motors Limited with a volume of 2,360 and price per share of 1,195.83 (56.94), Sanofi-Aventis Pakistan Limited with a volume of 3,200 and price per share of 1,685.50 (56.50).

The top three decliners were Philip Morris (Pakistan) Limited with a volume of 40 and price per share of 3,021 (-159.00), Colgate-Palmolive (Pakistan) Limited with a volume of 240 and price per share of 2,680 (-120.00), Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited with a volume of 720 and price per share of 2,066.69 (-92.86).
