Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ameer Haidar Khan Hoti has announced 100 percent increase in the gas royalty, establishment of separate university in district Karak. Addressing a public meeting in Karak on Wednesday, he also announced construction of 17-km Takht Nusrati-Siraj Khel Road, two girls degree colleges, 21 primary schools and construction of water supply schemes and Rs 250 million for acquisition of land for the university.
ANP Provincial President Afraseyab Khattak, Provincial Minister for Prisons Mian Nisar Gul Kakakhel, ANP Central Deputy General Secretary Nawabzada Musin Ali Khan, District President Usman Khattak and Rasheed Khattak also addressed the gathering. Senator Baz Muhammad Khattak, Senior Provincial Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour, Provincial Ministers Mian Iftekhar Hussain, Haji Hidayat Ullah and Amjid Afridi, ANP Provincial General Secretary Arbab Muhammad Tahir, ANP Leader Justice (R) Ibn Ali, MPAs Yasmin Zia and Khursheed Begum and large number of party workers were also present on the occasion.
The CM paid tributes to Khattak tribe on their services for the country and province and salute them on their attendance in large number in the gathering despite difficult circumstances and hurdles from local politicians.
He termed establishment of separate university for Karak and 100 percent increase in gas royalty as good omen for development of the district and prosperity of Khattak tribe and said that vast reservoirs of oil and gas in the district was the guarantee of development and prosperity of Pakhtoons. He said that these resources of Hydel power, oil and gas and minerals were future of KP that can be utilised for stability of economy and realising the dreams of peoples' prosperity.
Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said that identity of the province; provincial autonomy and ownership of resources were due to red flag, adding net hydel profit amounting to Rs 110 billion will be utilised for getting rid of load shedding. He said that thousands of mega watt hydel power would be generated in the province under long term, mid term and short term strategy, adding this will commence with laying foundation stone of hydel power project in Swat next month. He said that these efforts of the provincial government will not only lessen energy crises but it will also generate billion rupees revenues for the province.
He announced that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Oil and Gas Company would soon be established for taking real advantage from huge reservoirs of oil and gas in southern districts. He said that people of the province have the first right over these resources and 80 percent increase in ADP had been recorded for the first time due to these additional resources.
He approved extension of Bacha Khan Poverty Alleviation Programme to all union councils of district Karak. He termed government's special initiatives as stair for alleviation of unemployment, poverty and illiteracy and promotion of education that included Bacha Khan Khpal Rozgar Scheme, Hunermand Rozgar Scheme, Free Technical Training to Youth, scholarships worth Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000 would be given to top ten position holders of SSC and F.Sc respectively of government institutes under entire educational boards of the province for two years and Rokhana Pakhtunkha Programme under which government would bear fees of students enrolled to private schools hailing from union councils where there were no government schools.
