Indian spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on Tuesday called for adopting the principles and values of spirituality as a binding force to unite people with peace on concept of 'One World Family'. Founder of the organisation 'Art of Living' with presence in over 152 countries and the International Association for Human Values (IAHV), Ravi Shankar, who is on a visit to Pakistan, expressed views after inaugurating the Art of Living Peace Centre at the Federal Capital.
"I believe that spirituality alone can bring the hearts and minds of people together to mend differences and it is the right time for my visit to Pakistan as it will put a positive impact and help build a bridge of spirituality", Shankar remarked. Sri Ravi Shankar on the occasion also had an interaction with volunteers on peace mission from different walks of life to encourage interfaith harmony, cast a soft image of Pakistan across the borders and create a platform to represent all diversities for the region of South Asia.
He termed the spirituality as an expression of inner peace that can also promote universal love and peaceful co-existence between Pakistan and India. Shankar also held meditation sessions with the volunteers to eliminate stress, create a sense of belonging, restore human values, and encourage people from all backgrounds, religions, and cultural traditions to come together in celebration and service. He gave the message of "Become happy, at ease with yourself and with everyone around you - Become a part of the Art of Living Family."
According to Peace Mission from India by Sri Ravi Shankar, this visit will send a signal to the world and especially to the Indians that Pakistan is serious about peace and willing to do something about it. Ravi Shankar is a renowned peace advocate and multi-faceted humanitarian whose mission of uniting the world into a violence-free family has inspired millions to come together as a one-world family.
