Yet another skirmish was witnessed between two students' organisations at Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) that left seven persons including a cop and rangers personnel injured on Tuesday. According to police and eye-witnesses, all educational activities were suspended when the workers of Islami Jamiat Taulba (IJT) and Pukhtoon Student Federation (Puk-SF) charged each other with batons, rods and other lethal tools over petty issue, leaving seven persons including a cop and rangers injured.
The tension between these students' organisations intensified when the IJT worker Wasi engaged in quarrel with Puk-SF workers that forced the supporters of both organisations to charge each other with batons, rods and other lethal tools freely. Police sources said although the police and rangers rushed to the spot soon after the said incident; they were also maltreated by the workers of these students' organisations that left police constable Asghar and ranger Mumtaz injured.
They said some three workers of Puk-SF namely Naeem, Adalat Khan and Yasir were taken into custody. Meanwhile, the police officials denied to have arrested anyone, saying that the rangers have detained some miscreants during clash but their custody has so far not been transferred to the police. They said the case would definitely be registered against the workers of both organisations on the complaint of injured PC Asghar.
