The Karachi Port handled 52,596 tonnes of cargo including 37,985 tonnes of import; 14,611 tonnes of export cargo and 751 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during the last 24 hours of business activities ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 37,985 tonnes comprised 2,614 tonnes of total containerised cargo; 685 tonnes of B bulk cargo; 208 tonnes of wheat and 34,478 tonnes of oil or liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 14,611 tonnes comprised of 6,778 tonnes of total containerised cargo; 90 tonnes of bulk cargo; 5,243 tonnes of cement and 2,500 tonnes of oil or liquid cargo. A total number of five vessels namely Cathrina, Du Juan Song, Seagul D, Tabea and Stolt Spray are sailed out to the sea after loading/offloading loaded containerised bulk cargo, general cargo, bulk cargo, loaded containerised cargo and tankers respectively during the reported business period on Friday.
A total number of three vessels namely Fortune East, APL Brisbane and Berthea are currently at the berths to load/offload bulk cargo, containerised cargo and tankers respectively during the reported business hours at Karachi Port. There is a vessel namely APL Brisbane is expected to sail out to the sea after loading/unloading on Friday. While there are two more cargo vessels namely JOP and Kota Akbar are expected to sail out to the sea on Saturday from the same port.
There are only four vessels namely Oriental Freesia, APL Sokina, YM North and Kota Akbar carrying ethanol liquid containers and containerised cargo respectively are expected to arrive on Friday afternoon during the business activity hours at the port. While a total number four more cargo vessels namely Pacific Embolden, Armata, Winter Set and Yellow Fin carrying DAP cargo, coal cargo containers, cement cargo and steel coils cargo respectively are expected to arrive on Saturday.
The total import cargo volume comprised of 78,883 tonnes including 3,393 tonnes of canola oil; 31,042 tonnes of furnace oil; 8,748 tonnes of edible oil and 35,700 tonnes of containerised cargo are handled during the business activity hours of the port. The total export cargo volume comprised of 21,672 tonnes including 21,672 tonnes of containerised cargo are handled during the reported period of the activity hours on Friday.
There are four cargo vessels namely M V Nexoe Matersk, CMA CGM Amber, CMA CGM Pugat and C V Maganari carrying containerised cargo and canola seed respectively sailed out to the sea from Qasim International Container Terminal and FAP on Friday morning. A total number of six vessels namely M V Nexoe Matersk, CMA CGM Amber, CMA CGM Puget, M V maganari, M V Strilen and M V Fair Spirit are currently occupying the berths to load/offload loaded containerised cargo, canola seed, edible oil, and furnace oil tankers respectively during the last 24 hours of business activities at the port on Friday. There are three vessels namely Seagull D, Malpensa and Ikan Bayan carrying cement cargo containers, edible oil tankers and canola oil tankers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage to line up to sail out on Friday.
