Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 91,570 tonnes of cargo comprising1 77,850 tonnes of import cargo and 13,720 tonnes of export cargo including 568 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 77,850 tonnes comprised of 1,093 tonnes of general cargo; 33,853 tonnes of bulk cargo: 28,950 tonnes of coal; 1,611 tonnes of palm kernel expeller; 2,199 tonnes of wheat and 43,997 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 13,720 tonnes comprised of 9,216 tonnes of containerised cargo; 4,504 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,304 tonnes of cement; 2,400 tonnes of iron and 800 tonnes of loose bulk cement.
Six ships namely CS Discovery, Hyundai Highness, MT Lahore, Maetiga, Galveston and Noble Coral with two container ships, two oil tankers, one coal carrier and one general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Five vessels viz Magnum Fortune, Tabernacle Prince, Ocean Felicity, Noble Coral and Angelica Schulte with two bulk cargo ships, two general cargo ships and one oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths.
One cement carrier namely Sea Merchant sailed out to sea on Wednesday, while another ship namely Star Sea Breeze with coal carrier is expected to sail on Thursday. Four vessels viz Olivia, APL Brisbane, Aristea-M and African Eagle with two container ships, one steal coils ship and one steal carrier respectively due to arrive on Wednesday, while five vessels viz Rio Bravo, Emirates Kabir, Marika, Quetta and Ky Venus with two container ships, one mogas carrier, one crude oil tanker and one orthoxylene carrier respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIMA cargo volume of 34,922 tonnes, comprising 17,073 tonnes of import cargo and 17,849 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,597 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo includes 17,073 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 17,849 tonnes includes 1,385 tonnes of rice and 16,464 tonnes of containerised cargo. Two ships namely MV Hanjin Malta and MV Lion sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another ship namely CGM Mozart is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of three ships namely MV Hanjin Malta, CGM Mozart and MV Lion are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers and rice respectively during last 24 hours. As many as five ships namely MSC Reunion, CGM Bellini, Estia, Eurosea and Maganari with containers, diesel oil, furnace oil and canola seeds respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
A total number of three vessels viz CV CGM Bellini, Maganari and Estia carrying containers, canola seeds and diesel oil respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Grain & Fertiliser Terminal (FAP) and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
