'Strategy being prepared to drain out water'

Sindh Minister for Information and Power, Ms Shazia Marri has said that long and short-term strategy is in the way to ensure safe disposal of storm-water into sea and minimise flood losses in future. She stated this while talking to journalists in Berani, District Sanghar after visiting the rain-affected areas of the district on Saturday.
The minister said that President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari is taking keen interest to restore old escaping channels, waterways and effective drainage system to avoid rain & flood disaster losses to the public and private properties in future. She said that a comprehensive plan is being conceived in this regard. She said that foreign consultancy and financial help would also be acquired in case if needed. The minister asked local management of LBOD Project to give presentation for disposal of rainwater from the low-lying areas of the district.
