Growers from Southern Punjab have urged the federal government to end prolonged load-shedding in rural areas as it is affecting wheat sowing, which is at its peak nowadays. This demand was raised by the presidents and secretaries of Kisan Board Pakistan district bodies from southern Punjab met with KBP Southern Punjab President, Malik Fayyazul Hassan Bhutta in the chair, said a statement issued by KBP Central Secretary Information, Haji Muhammad Ramzan, here on Friday.
The meeting urged the federal government that 12 to 18 hours long load-shedding being observed in rural areas which in the opinion of the farmers was equal to anti-grower attitude. They said it would definitely hit the ongoing wheat-sowing season. They said if the prolonged load-shedding and over-billing by Wapda is not ended forthwith, growers would stage a sit in outside Wapda House.
