At least two persons including an elder woman and a fireman received burn injuries when fire broke out in two houses located in the limits of North Nazimabad police station.
According to police and rescuers, the fire, which was intentionally broken out to dispose off garbage at an empty plot, engulfed two other adjacent houses (B3-46 and B3-43) at North Nazimabad block-N, causing burn injuries to two persons including fireman Muhammad Ajmal and Rukhsana Bibi, besides leaving all valuables of the said houses into ashes.
Officials in Fire Brigade department said that four fire tenders were sent to the spot on the information received on Thursday afternoon. They said the fireman after hectic efforts of two and a half hours, brought the fire under control. They said the injured were shifted to nearby hospital for treatment and added that the exact amount of loss was yet to be ascertained.
