Outrageously pathetic!

The 'confession' of a father to have murdered his three disabled daughters after raping two of them has shell-shocked everyone, indicating moral degradation of society. In a country like Pakistan where people always sympathetically treat disabled persons and try to help them out, this heinous crime has jolted the whole society. Several cases of sexual assault are reported but the incident has raised the question; who is the protector of the daughter of Eve?
According to SP Khurram Waris, the tragic incident took place on October 15, 2011 at Meraj-un-Nabi colony located in Mominabad Sector 10, Orangi Town where the bodies of three disabled sisters were found in a pool. The victims, who were identified as Sumeera, 16, Uzma, 11, and Nisha, 8, were murdered when their mother and brother went to Pak Patan.
The post-mortem reports of two of the victims confirmed that they were raped before murder. Dr Zakiya, who conducted their medical examination, revealed that two of three disabled sisters, Sumeera and Uzma, were raped before they were drowned in a pool located in their house.
The investigators had initially excluded their father from investigation but took his DNA to expedite the process of investigation. SP Khurram further said that Crime Range West had re-initiated the investigation when the case was transferred to them. He said the accused, Sheikh Muhammad, 50, at first denied of being involved in the heinous crime but after physical remand he admitted the same.
The accused person during initial course of investigation revealed that on October 15, 2011, the victims Sumaira and Uzma indulged in arguments with each other over some issue and expelled feces in the room, which enraged him. The accused said that his daughters demanded him to bring Haleem for them in lunch.
He purchased sleeping pills from Zeeshan Attari medical store and mixed the same in their lunch, the accused had told police. Later, he drowned all three sisters in a pool till their death. To a question, SP Khurram Waris said the accused did not remember that he had raped them, saying that the accused was of the view that he was drug-addict and he might have raped his daughters. A case, 371/11, had already been registered against the accused.
