In Punjab Assembly session on Wednesday a resolution tabled by Law Minister Rana Sanaullah of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) pointing that the time has come to give due rights to all the provinces was passed with majority of votes. The resolution commended the statement of PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif regarding eradication of injustices to province of Balochistan, vowing by him that PML-N would now fight the case of Balochistan.
Punjab Assembly resolution appreciated the statement of veteran Baluch politician Atta Ullah Khan Mengal that if injustice to Balochistan was undone then they could consider coming into national fold for talks. The resolution appreciated confidence reposed by veteran Baluch leader on the efforts of Nawaz Sharif and demanded that murderers of late Nawab Muhammad Akbar Bugti should be given a logical end to their deeds.
In Punjab Assembly session during the day 'Annual Report of Ombudsman Punjab -2010' was presented. 'The Bank of Punjab (Amendment) Ordinance 2011 was also presented and referred to finance standing committee. In the session ten bills were passed and others put on referral.
The bills passed were: 'The Provincial Insolvency (Amendment) Bill 2011, 'The West Pakistan Bus Stands and Traffic Control (Gujranwala) Ordinance, 1963 (Repeal) Bill 2011, 'The West Pakistan Bus Stands and Traffic Control (Lahore) Ordinance, 1963 (Repeal) Bill 2011, 'The Hindu Inheritance (Removal of Disabilities) Amendment Bill 2011, 'The Hindu Law of Inheritance (Second Amendment) Bill 2011, 'The Road Transport Workers (Amendment) Bill 2011, 'The Factories (Amendment) Bill 2011, 'The Minimum Wages (Amendment) Bill 2011, 'The Injured Persons (Medical Aid) (Amendment) Bill 2011, 'The Powers of Attorney (Amendment ) Bill 2011.
Dr Saeed Elahi Parliamentary Secretary in query period pointed out that according to Pure Food Ordinance 1960, under which Pure Food Rules, 1965 were introduced; penalties had been imposed for adulteration in food. He to a question pointed that funds were allocated to district governments under Health Sector Reforms in 2004-05. He said under this programme Management Unit was initiated in April 2006. Saeed Elahi informed that there was one vacancy of Director General and eight vacancies of directors in health department in Punjab.
