The Engineers Pakistan on Thursday organised Pakistan's largest engineers' convention in Lahore, which was titled as 'Role and Protection of Engineers'. Engr. Rehman Maqbool, Engr. M. Sadiq, Dr M. Yasin Bhatti, Engr. Bakht Bahadur Rana, Engr. Mushtaq Gill, Engr. Arif Shiekh and Chairman The Engineers Pakistan Engr. Javed Salim Qureshi addresses the convention.
Unanimously a resolution was passed amongst the presence of more than 500 engineers in the chairmanship of Engr, Javed Salim Qureshi, whose salient clauses were:
-- The government should arrange jobs for the fresh engineering graduates, who are searching for jobs for the past 5 years, and they should be provided with stipend until and unless they get a job or internship.
-- Only engineering professional should be imposed in all the engineering departments.
-- Engineers should be provided a pay scale, equal to doctors.
-- It has been demanded to the Pakistan Election Commission that these elections shall be fair and transparent. Because the candidate from the government side has planned dhandli for these elections and serious action shall be taken against such engineers from the government organisations, who are involved in it, also that they should be transferred elsewhere. Pakistan Election Commission shall stop the officials in government to misuse their authorities.-PR
