IHC dismisses Dar's plea against AC proceeding

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Wednesday dismissed Finance Minister Ishaq Dar’s petition seeking to suspend accountability court's decision to declare him proclaimed offender in references regarding assets beyond known sources of income.
A divisional bench of IHC comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Mian Gul Hassan Aurengzaib heard the case filed by Ishaq Dar against accountability court (AC) proceeding against him.
During the course of proceeding, the counsel for Dar submitted new medical report related to his client.
Justice Athar Minallah asked the counsel that is there no surgery facility in Pakistan? Dar's counsel replied that the doctors had advised his client from avoiding travel.
Justice Athar Minallah observed that the accused was not stopped from traveling through air ambulance.
If Ishaq Dar was willing to return, the court will give him protective bail till appearance before accountability court.
After hearing arguments from both sides at large, the court dismissed Dar's plea and restored accountability court trial against him.
