Six countries Japan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan participated in NBP sponsored 3rd Asian The Shidokan Karate Tournament, the tournament was held on December 11, 2011 in Benazir Sports Club in Karachi. Pakistan attained top position in the tournament followed by Sri Lanka on second and Afghanistan on third position. The award ceremony was attended by Dr Muhammad Ali Shah, Minister for Sports and Honourable Consulate Generals of Japan and Afghanistan.

The organisers of the event praised the efforts of National Bank of Pakistan in promoting all sorts of sports. The organiser made special comments and thanked NBP for being the only sponsor of the event. NBP being nation's bank is at service to nation from the last 63 years through its valuable services and products. The bank apart from providing banking services also realises the importance of sports and other Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) events therefore NBP is the largest contributor in CSR activities and plays keen role in promoting sport in Pakistan.-PR
