All the CNG filling stations in Lahore, Gujranwala, Multan and Sahiwal regions closed for three days from Monday to Wednesday to comply with gas shortage management plan. People faced problems in reaching their destinations due to dearth of public transport. Buses, wagons and rickshaws demanded inflated fares from public.
In the city and at GT road a large number of people kept waiting for public transport as several vehicles remained off road. CNG closure hits thousands of commuters in the provincial capital and those travelling inter-city routes. Monopolising the situation, rickshaw drivers charged according to their own 'sweet will' while wagons plying the city routes charged extra five to ten rupees. CNG filling stations shall resume service on Thursday morning after three-day closure.
