A policeman was killed and a civilian injured on Sunday when suspected militants opened fire in occupied Kashmir, police said, adding the region's senior minister escaped unhurt in the attack. "It seems Ali Mohammed Sagar was the target but he escaped unhurt," the officer said on condition of anonymity.
The attack took place on Sunday evening in downtown occupied Srinagar the officer said, adding that police were collecting more details on the incident.
